Hi! Quick rundown of how I handle your information at SK Glow.

What I collect

When you book a tan, sign up for a class, buy something from the shop, or send me a message, you give me things like your name, email, phone number, shipping address, and (for purchases) payment details. I don't go looking for anything beyond what I need to take care of you.

Depending on what you use, I may also collect:

• Photos you take for a skin scan or tan check-in, and the skin, tone, undertone and tan readings made from them (see below).
• Allergies or skin sensitivities you tell me about before a service or class, so I can keep you safe.
• Details you put in a certification, workspace or professional application.
• Basic site usage, such as pages viewed, IP address, approximate city and device type, unless you turn it off (see Cookies).
• A device notification address if you turn on push notifications.

What I use it for

Booking your appointment, sending you confirmations and reminders, shipping your order, answering your message, or letting you know about upcoming classes if you've asked to hear from me. Nothing weird.

Skin Scans, AI-Derived Records, and Tan Recommendations

SK Glow may process skin scan, tone, tan, color, recommendation, and service-history information to provide tan previews, recommendations, appointment preparation, follow-up, calibration, safety, auditability, and service continuity.

Raw photos or camera images are processed only long enough to create the requested reading and are not retained. SK Glow may retain the derived records described below.

To read a photo, SK Glow sends it to an AI service provider (Anthropic), which analyzes it and returns the skin and tan reading. I ask for your consent before a photo is taken or uploaded. Scans are used for your tan service, not to identify who you are.

SK Glow may retain derived records created from scans, consultations, check-ins, appointments, recommendations, and related service activity. Derived records may include skin tone, undertone, tan level, formula guidance, recommendation history, scan metadata, service notes, and related audit records.

Derived records are retained by default so SK Glow can provide consistent recommendations, maintain service history, improve calibration, support customer follow-up, and preserve auditability.

Deletion of these records is available through explicit user erasure or compliance workflows. Normal scan, check-in, booking, checkout, appointment, or recommendation activity does not automatically delete derived records.

Payment information

Bookings, tans, memberships, studio credits, academy purchases, and other non-clothing SK Glow services are processed through SK Glow's website systems and Stripe. Shopify is used for clothing and apparel purchases only. I never see or store your full card number — payment processors handle that securely. Shopify Admin credentials are never placed in SK Glow mobile apps or public client code.

Email and texts

If you opt in, I'll send you class announcements or studio updates. You can unsubscribe any time with one click, no hard feelings.

Text messages (SMS)

Texts are optional. When you book a tan, you can check the box to get texts about that booking: a confirmation, appointment reminders, and replies if you text me back. If you ask for a text receipt at checkout, I'll send that too. You can book without agreeing to texts. Message frequency varies (usually 3 per booking). Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Full details are on the text message terms page.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Who else sees your info

Nobody, unless I have to share something with the businesses that help me run the studio. They only see what they need to do their job, and they're required to keep your info safe too. I don't sell your information. Ever.

The service providers I use are:

• Stripe for payments, and Shopify for clothing orders
• Resend and SendGrid for email, and Twilio for texts
• Anthropic for AI analysis of skin scan photos
• Vercel and Neon to host the website and store its data, Auth0 for account sign-in, and QuickBooks for bookkeeping
• Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics to understand site visits, unless you turn them off (see Cookies)
• Shipping carriers to deliver your order

Cookies

The website uses a few basic cookies to make things work and help me understand how visitors use the site. You can clear them in your browser any time.

If you set up tan check-in on your phone, a cookie remembers that phone and links it to your check-ins so you don't have to scan the QR code again. It expires after 6 months without use, and you can choose “Forget this phone” at any time.

I also keep my own record of how the site is used: which pages are viewed, what gets clicked, which website or ad a visit came from, the IP address of the visitor's internet connection and the approximate city it points to, and their device and browser type. It's tied to a random ID saved in your browser, not to your name. Choose “Only necessary” under Cookie Settings in the footer and none of it is recorded.

Your rights

Want to see what I have on file? Update it? Delete it? Just email me and I'll take care of it.

Children

SK Glow services aren't directed to kids under 13, and I don't knowingly collect information from them through the site.

Updates

I may update this policy from time to time. The latest version always lives here.
